does anybody say what they mean?
does anybody ask the right questions?
does anybody still believe Trump on Iran?
does any reporter ever ask:
Uh, Mr. President, why did you say some 40 + times over the past few months that a deal was likely in the next 2 to 3 days?
Mr. President, when you said a deal was imminent some 40+ times and it never materialized, why should you have credibility now?
Mr. President, what faction(s) of the Iranian government opposes your minimum requirements to resolve this war?
Mr. President, do the faction(s) which oppose your stated goals have the power to prevent you from attaining them? Are these people a part of your latest "deal?"
Mr. President, what amount of control does the IRGC have on the "deal?"
Mr. President, since when do we negotiate with terrorists?
Mr. President, since when do terrorists respond to anything but force, especially in the Middle East where the coin of the realm has always been brute force?
Mr. President, the Newsmax article below suggests your supposed "deal" is a wish list - a mere framework for further negotiations toward a hopeful settlement, not an actual "deal" at all. Is the article accurate, and if so, what is the difference between the current "deal" and all the prior "deals" which failed to materialize?
Mr. President, today (June 12, 2026) you stated that over the last five nights you clandestinely "took out" Iranian ships and confiscated millions of gallons of their oil. How are these actions consistent with a cease-fire?
Mr. President, you’ve obviously been tapping somebody along. Is your misinformation and disinformation directed at Iran, the oil market, the stock market, the American public, or a. through d. ?
Mr. President, is the Left right about you having a rather slippery relationship with the truth, or do you have a higher purpose that would take you out of the realm of BS artist into the realm of a competent commander and chief?
Newsmax article 1 excerpts - June 12, 2026No-Nukes Pledge Sits at Center of Emerging US-Iran Deal
President Donald Trump's demand that Iran permanently abandon any pursuit of nuclear weapons appears to be the central pillar of a peace agreement he said Thursday is moving into its final stages....
Trump said the agreement has been approved at the highest levels of Iran's government and by regional partners involved in the negotiations, though Iranian officials have disputed that a final deal has been reached.
Reporting by the New York Post said the emerging framework under discussion pairs Iran's nuclear commitment with broader steps aimed at ending the conflict and stabilizing the region.
Trump said one of the key elements of the deal would be reopening the Strait of Hormuz, the critical oil shipping route through which about one-fifth of global supply flows....
The (NY) Post reported that the arrangement would extend the current ceasefire while launching additional negotiations over Iran's nuclear program and other unresolved issues.
Trump said he canceled planned U.S. military strikes against Iran after negotiators made substantial progress toward a diplomatic resolution.
Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump called the effort a "great deal"....
Trump described the negotiations as advancing quickly and suggested a signing ceremony could take place in Europe within days.
The emerging agreement is being described by officials as a
framework rather than a final peace treaty, according to the New York Post. The Post reported that sanctions relief and broader economic concessions remain unresolved and are expected to be addressed in later rounds of talks.
Iranian officials have pushed back on Trump's characterization of the negotiations, saying no final decision has been made and that Tehran will not accept compromises on its core demands.
Even so, reporting by the New York Post and comments from Trump suggest the emerging agreement is being structured around several core components, including Iran's commitment not to pursue nuclear weapons, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, an extension of the ceasefire and a broader follow-on negotiating process to address remaining disputes.
Officials involved in the talks, as cited in New York Post reporting, describe the arrangement as a framework agreement designed to set conditions for continued negotiations rather than a comprehensive final settlement resolving all outstanding issues. On Truth Social, Trump blasted Iran media reports:
“Very dishonorable people to deal with. With them, there is no such thing as dealing in good faith. Amazing! Also, their totally rebuffed. Drone attack last night against Indian Ships leaving the Hormuz Strait is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. They better get their act together, and FAST!" he added.
Iranian state media earlier Friday shared purported details of the possible memorandum of understanding that could be signed with the U.S., according to Reuters.
It cited the IRNA news agency as saying that under the agreement, Iran would make no commitment regarding the transfer of the management of the Strait of Hormuz.
Instead, the future administration of the Strait reportedly would be decided through dialogue and joint decision-making between Iran and Oman....
The IRNA news agency added that discussions about the future of Iran's nuclear program would take place within a 60-day period after the agreement is signed, Reuters added. (emphasis added)Angel -

Trump knows the IRGC has to be vanquished and thankfully he prefers economic pressure to deadly force, to the extent this is possible
Whether Trump is being honest is not an interesting question because the answer is so obvious. The interesting question about his deceptions is this - to what end?
- Do we need time to build more weapons before we can safely take them out?
- Does Iran have sufficient missile capacity to cause more damage to us and our allies than we can stomach?
- Will we be able to accomplish Trump's stated goals, and if not, why not?
- Is Trump misleading the public for righteous and necessary reasons?

In an interview this afternoon, Trump stated that for the past several nights of "cease-fire," he clandestinely "took out" Iranian oil tankers. He proudly broke it down by night: "25, 22, 21, 16, 18 and 14. He said we confiscated millions of gallons of Iran's oil.
Also today, Newsmax reported that Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC) has not approved the deal and that without the IRGC, there is no deal.
Newsmax article 2 - excerptsPerhaps a US-Iran Deal's Biggest Hurdle: Revolutionary Guard
By Newsmax Wires Friday, 12 June 2026 04:43 PM
President Donald Trump's emerging agreement with Iran faces a critical hurdle after negotiations reached the highest levels of Iran's leadership: winning the backing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which has yet to endorse the deal, according to a Wall Street Journal report Thursday.
The Revolutionary Guard is widely viewed as the most powerful institution in Iran, controlling military, intelligence, and economic assets that could determine whether any agreement with Washington succeeds or fails....
Trump has repeatedly signaled that an agreement may be within reach and said this week that negotiations had advanced to the highest levels of Iran's government.
But the Journal reported that even if Iranian negotiators approve a deal, it could face significant obstacles without the support of the IRGC, whose military and security apparatus would play a central role in carrying out its terms.
"The guard is not just another branch of government," former U.S. officials and Iran analysts told the Journal. "It is one of the principal centers of power in the Islamic Republic."
For that reason, the fate of any Trump-brokered agreement may depend not only on the diplomats at the negotiating table, but also on whether Iran's most powerful military institution decides the deal serves its interest. (emphasis added)
