I always stop and look at all the rings My grandkids said “Hey Zayde, make a bid!" [Verse 2] Who says there is no magic on the Earth? A starving artist finally gets a ring! Real gold, not stainless steel cheap This one will be a memory to keep! [Chorus] My grandchildren just make me want to sing! - (x 2) Who says there is no magic on the Earth? - (x 2) A starving artist finally gets a ring! - (x 2) [Verse 3] Was 14 carat gold, I thought cha-ching! My ego in a duel with my id My grandchildren just make me want to sing! Appreciate the gifts the good Lord brings Sent up a little prayer, oh yes I did! [Verse 4] Walking through an art fair, people watching Said “God, please send me money for some bling!” On spending, never learned to keep a lid My grandchildren just make me want to sing! [Chorus] My grandchildren just make me want to sing! - (x 2) Who says there is no magic on the Earth? - (x 2) A starving artist finally gets a ring! - (x 2) [Bridge] Experiencing the lightness of being Into my hand five C-notes the Lord slid Walking through an art fair, people watching My grandchildren just make me want to sing! [Outro] The artist took four hundred dollars for the ring With a hundred extra bucks, I could buy lunch! The ring turned out to be gold plated tin But the lovely day and lunch made it a win! David, this is absolutely delightful! I love the transition at the end. It would have been so easy to let the 'gold-plated tin' ruin the memory, but choosing to see the day, the lunch, and the laughter with your grandkids as the real gold is a beautiful way to live. Sometimes the best magic on Earth is simply refusing to let a little fool's gold spoil a perfect afternoon. Thanks for the smile!
Very beautiful! 💛🌸
